food + cape town

Cape Town is definitely worth a visit.  One of the highlights of the trip for me was the variety of food and fresh fruit.  In Vancouver I am spoiled by the selection of fruit and different food options, and in Zambia. . .well. . .not so much.

It was great to be able to eat fresh fruit everyday (apples, bananas, peaches, plums, nectarines, kiwis and pears) and enjoy different foods that are not available in Zambia.  We even went to McDonald's (oh, it was a happy moment) and I would show you those pictures but we inhaled the food too quickly.

The fruit platter awaiting us upon arrival at the hotel.

Philip and the cheese section at the local Pic n Pay.
Mmm I love cheese (and wished they had this selection in Zambia)!

Crazy excited to eat dinner
(it was a chicken caesar salad - see above- and it was amazing!).

Real French-style macarons.

Fruit and cream crepes.

Freshly caught seafood.

Mmm. . .cheesecake.

And smoothies.  It had been so long since I had a smoothie.
Yep, the trip was totally worth it and my taste buds came back to Zambia very happy.

And now that I am totally hungry, I guess I should get back to packing. . . .
