the crazy muzungu

Often times in Zambia I am a bit of a spectacle.  It is not very common to see a muzungu walking around visiting people at their farms or in the compounds (the only muzungus I've seen visiting the farms/compounds have been part of my group).  Children often run up to greet the muzungu and practice their English and others will often gather around to see what is going on.

This week I went with some of the ladies on the team and introduced them to the farm community some of the kids come from.  Of course we had to sing and the kids chose "Skinamarinkydinkydink" because they love the actions and the "mwah" at the end.

We also went to Twapia to help out at a feeding program and introduced the kids to a few games, including tug o war.

The kids had a lot of fun, especially once they figured out what was involved.  Although once they realized the object of the game was to pull the rope as hard as they could to pull the other team over the middle boundary, I had a hard time restarting the game as they kept pulling on the rope trying to drag me over to their side.
