In my grade 8 computer class our most recent project was writing a story about the chickens, so today I am featuring one of those stories for your reading pleasure. . .enjoy!
Once upon a time there lived a lady named Ann. She wanted to buy chickens, but did not know where to buy them. So one day she saw a man selling chickens and bought four of them. She was glad to get those chickens. she put them in the house and went to check the chicken’s house. When she came back she found the chickens had messed up her house.
The next day she decided to name the chickens and their names were Rocky, Melinda, Willamina and Ginger. Rocky was the only rooster and was Melinda’s best friend and Ginger was Willamina’s best friend.
After two days of living with Aunt Ann the chickens were taken to their little house at the back of her house.
One day a lizard came to visit the chickens and liked the house, so the chickens told him to stay with them.
Just by the neighbourhood lived three huge dogs and one little dog, but the little dog looked big to the chickens, and its name was Jab. The chickens were in their territory one day when Jab jumped over the fence and killed Willamina and Ginger. It was the worst day of the two friends lives. They cried and cried until Aunt Ann came and comforted them.
Life went on with the two friends. They continued their duty of dirtying other people’s yards.
It was Friday when Aunt Ann thought of buying two more chickens as a surprise for the two chickens. the chickens were bought as a surprise and the two chickens were very happy when they saw them. Aunt Ann named them Jax and Tootsie.
When Jab heard what had happened to the chickens, he started thinking of what to do to kill another chicken.
The next day, in the afternoon, Jab was outside playing when he saw the chickens taking a walk. He sneaked behind them and when the chickens came to realize, Jax was killed. The three friends ran away.
When Aunt Ann came she was surprised to find the chicken laying dead on the ground. She was very sad.
She thought of an idea of how to keep the chickens safe. She decided she would be sleeping with the chickens every evening. Ever since that time no chicken has died. To the chickens this meant freedom.
Except a few months later, Rocky died. He was killed by Jab. This was sad news for Aunt Ann, but the two friends were used to this kind of living and in the end they both lived in fear.
THE END
NOTE: This story is based on a true story.
