Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls are a must see when in Zambia! It is an amazing sight to see today, and I can only imagine what it would have been like to witness such a sight 155 years ago when David Livingstone arrived and was the first non African to see the “Mosituny” (smoke that thunders).

With wild animals lurking behind bushes and unknown things waiting around every corner, Livingstone epitomized the spirit of adventure! Going to Africa in the 2000s is one thing when you have an idea of what you are going to see, but to have gone in the 1800s when most people didn’t venture far at all and you really had no idea what you were getting yourself into. . .wow!

As it was, visiting Livingstone and Victoria Falls today is an adventure. If you see the Falls, you will find yourself in the company of many baboons. Watch for them as they will charge you (personal experience talking) but it is definitely worth a visit!
